The global harvests for the past two years were dismal. A 25% shortfall and inferior quality from the global drought doubled producers’ prices to €9/liter for EVOO. But the Mediterranean basin is back at its usual olive oil output, squeezing current producer prices to half their over the past two years of drought, at around €4.50. Only Italy holds out for the moment at €9 due to another dismal harvest, meeting only half the country’s domestic consumption. Our two Cooperatives are back in full production mode of very high quality EVOO
